Gold Snowflake Hanglar

Once again it’s been too long in between posts but I’ve finally colored a few images & this little Hanglar was just too cute to leave sitting … Guess it’s time to turn them into cards instead of just adorning my tables with them. I think I’ve forgotten how to use my Copics & post something but will do my best …

After seeing some wonderful cards that Tammi made using these large snowflakes I finally found some & used a gold one topped off with some glittery ribbon, a pair of bells & a little gold thread. Maybe a bit too much gold but hey, “It’s almost Christmas” so thought I would bling it up a little.

Here’s a close up of this little girl holding a piece of the snowflake she “accidently broke off.

The inside is decorated with papers from the same pack as the front.

Supplies used :

Designer papers ": My Minds Eye  & Stampin Up Vanilla & Cherry Cobbler

Memory Box “Frostyville Border”

Cheery Lynn Doily for the sentiment.

Bells & ribbon from Jo Ann’s

Colored with Copics

Glenda, one sweet lady that I follow, who by the way makes the most wonderful paper flowers has a great philosophy … She says take a moment for yourself & “Breathe” …

We all get caught up in our busy lives with things we think we HAVE to do … But sometimes taking a few moments just for YOU to “Breathe” makes life seem a little less hectic & a lot more enjoyable … Maybe we should all try that especially this time of year.  I am the WORST at putting things off & saying I’ll do it later but right now I just took a deep breath & it felt really good …

Thanks for stopping by & hope you have a crafty kind of day & Ruth Ann I hope you are taking a moment to “breathe”… She’s my wonderful friend who makes beautiful cards, quilts & is always encouraging me to get busy & use some of the many card supplies I keep buying & hoarding ….

And a HUGE thank you to my beautiful daughters who have the busiest lives of anyone I know & can still find time to walk & go to the gym & clean their houses, take care of their children, work full time PLUS find time to make quilts & decorate their houses for the holidays & plan trips for their children & remodel a house & become a Captain in the Air Force & ALWAYS be a shoulder to lean on … Ladies, I hope you take a moment to “Breathe” & know I love you to the Moon & Back”.

Happy Summer

I know summer is drawing to an end but I just love this sweet “Garden Tilda” & wanted to use her today … She was colored with Copics & made with a whole lot of love …  I made the little wood minitures & card display rack while I was working ... I am sooo NOT a wood worker but my "boss, who is a quadraplegic" can tell us how to do thse things & he maks it fun to turn a little piece of wood into a tiny wagon wheel or wood vase with his tools. Although he can't do them himself anymore he's a wonderful teacher & I'm so pleased when I look at the finished project & can say "I did this myself !!! Sure couldn't have done it without him tho. Thanks Al ...P1030794
Darlene from Dutch Paper Crafts asked me to do a few more samples for her & the die I backed Miss Tilda with is a LifeStyle Craft oval die … They are so nice to use & cut like butter. I stamped the sentiment on one of the 3 Memory Box Puffy Clouds that come as a set that Darlene also sent & used a leafing pen to make a little “silver lining” on the clouds …
I added a little Flower Soft for the “dirt” & the watering can is an old Sizzix die I cut out of a Pepsi can & then ran thru my Vagabond & crimped it with a wavy paper crimper. The flowers are Wild Orchid Crafts & the little cones are from my “gathering” outside. I LOVE to use things I find for little fillers … The leaves are a Cheery Lynn Flourish …  Gee, I sound like a salesman but I truly do love this crazy “addiction” hobby & just like to share what makes me happy.
And the inside done to match .. Looks like I forgot to add a little something to the right side of the sentiment but will fix it later. The papers are from the Nitwits “Petal Fresh” digit collection & I can’t believe how wonderful they print out. These beautiful “quilt” papers are some of my favorites …

There, I added a little Cheery Lynn butterfly to fill in the blank space …
The wonderful scalloped card base was sent to me by a sweet lady Eileen from "across the pond" ... She makes some amazing cards so go check out her blog when you have time. But I WARN you she uses some wonderful dies that makes you want to rush right out & pick some up. If you stop by to "visit" her tell her Janie says Hi ...
I wanted to use pale yellow filler flowers but only had white so I got out my nifty little Mini air compressor & a Copic marker & sprayed them to match. Quick & easy !!!

From white to yellow with just with a quick spray … I also sprayed a few leaves for another project.
Here’s a couple more samples I did for Darlene using the Life Style Crafts Floral Doily & the Nesting Squares & Cheery Lynn butterflies & Olive branch... when I order from Dutch Paper Crafts, Darlene usually gets it to me in about 2 days. Fastest service possible. If you don’t see something you want just e-mail her & she will get right back to you & let you know if she can get it.
This was a little long but I hope you enjoyed the post half as much as I did making it.
Hugs & happy crafting, Janie

From My Kitchen With Love

Here’s something a little different from my normal “Tilda” cards … This is a delicious family recipe & although it’s a silly name that’s what everyone has always called it… I’ve been doing a few samples for Darlene at Dutch Paper Crafts & she was so wonderful to send me some amazing dies to work with … This recipe card is done using Lifestyles Craft Nesting Rectangles & Circles. They come in a set of 4 or 5 & cut like a dream …

These were taken outside on an old wagon wheel my daughter Theresa gave me & next to an old whiskey barrel filled with Hen & Chicks & other Succulents my daughter Bridgette gave me for Mother’s Day this year. I LOVE that kind of yard decoration & even used a pair of old boots & filled them with plants. You can barely see the toe of the boot it’s sooooo full …

The inside has more Nesting circles & the sentiment from JustRite stamps is put on with an Action Wobble so it spins when you flip it from the side. Darlene did a wonderful video showing the cards I sent her & it’s up on her blog today if you have time to check it out. She offers a great discount on everything she sells & it’s the fastest shipping I’ve ever seen.

After I posted this I went back & reread it & noticed on my Recipe I typed Prehead instead of Preheat ... Wonder how many of you noticed ...

Here’s a little treat bag I sent to Darlene for her dog Buddy … I used another Lifestyle Craft rectangle for the computer generated sentiment & just put a couple of Milk Bones in a tiny ziplock baggie I bought at Michael’s. I used my Cricut to cut the Doggie & stamped a Peachy Keen face on him & put him on an Action Wobble.
Thanks for stopping by & hope you can take a little time to craft today…

In my back yard

I had some extra papers on my desk from my last post so decided to make another card from the same collection. Did I mention I LOVE these digi papers !! I printed an 8 1/2 x 11 sheet & a 6 x 6 of the same pattern & love the different look of them … I showed them both so you can see the difference in print. Thank you once again Paula & Sharon for telling me how to do that … There are so many different papers in these digi sets it’s hard to choose which ones to use.

I took my cards out on the deck to photograph them & noticed a couple of squirrels in the yard & a pair of ducks in our little pond. Thought I would share them with you … The squirrel is at the top on the right side of the pond & one duck is hiding in the cattails we planted a few years ago. As soon as we get some sunshine everything will start growing & blooming … You can click on the little pictures to see them close up.

P1030457      P1030478

A pair of Mallard ducks & one of our MANY squirrels on the feeder I made with a little help from my daughter & the boss. With their own private diner the squirrels now leave the bird feeders alone.

On to my card !!!

I just love this simple card. It was so easy to put together just using some of the embellished pieces from the Nitwits Time For Tea & a few hand made flowers  …

I’m entering this in the Cheery Lynn Designs challenge “Flowers”

Don’t think I should have shown this close-up cuz it shows all my crooked mistakes … The flower is made from a rolled flower die & the “leaves” under it is a Marianne Poinsettia die. Little Miss mini Tilda is colored with Copics to match & she chose to sit on that fun little Anastaseia border from Cheery Lynn. The tiny teapot & cup charm is another treasure from that wonderful lady Gloria.  These cards just wouldn’t be complete with this cute embellishment …

Best be getting to bed so I can work on some designer card samples for Dutch Paper Crafts tomorrow & get them sent off to her. Darlene is a wonderful lady to work for & I must get busy on them before I get any thing else done. She offers a nice discount & her shipping is super fast..

Time for Tea

Just want to thank all of you for being patient with me for not posting in so long & to especially thank some of my “special friends” who continue to help me make this “addiction” so fun. I made a link to their blogs so you can pop by when you have a minute & see the wonderful things they post.
I made a little display rack so thought it was time to finally make a card to sit on it … At my job I sometimes have the opportunity to do a little wood working. I must say I am NOT a builder of any kind but with my daughter & my “Boss’s” help I have made this cute little rack made out of scrap wood. It’s not perfect but good enough for me …

I was inspired by using some of the new Nitwit’s digi papers to start my card. They had a sale on the papers recently & I bought a “few” new collections including this wonderful “Time For Tea” that I used here. I LOVE the digi papers after having a couple of sweet friends, Sharon & Paula help me figure out how to resize & print them. Thanks ladies, you are GREAT !!!

It's funny as many Tildas as I have that this image is the one I chose to put on this card as it's the same one my good friend Ruth Ann used for my Tilda bag she made me. I guess I must REALLY like it ! It's also one my Granddaughter Amber colored awhile back so thought I share how much fun she had using my Copics.

I got a little carried away with embellishments & pretty much covered up my beautiful paper. (shame on me) … I used some Wild Orchid Craft flowers & the one with the little button on it is made from felt which is wonderful to play with. I cut it with my Vagabond machine (which I LOOOVE) & it cut like butter. I think it was Amanda who told me about it & of course I had to go try some … I love trying new things !!! The teapot charm was sent to me along with a few others from Gloria who always made the cutest cards but is now making dolls among her many other talents.

WHY does it take so much to make a simple card !!!  I start with the basics & pretty soon my craft room is totally all on my desk. Anyone else have that problem !!! I decided I had all this pretty stuff out so I started making another card for a little different look … So I’ll have another card to post soon …
Hugs, Janie

My Tilda Tote

I WISH I could say I made this, but my sweet friend Ruth Ann created this adorable “Tilda” tote for me when she heard I was going to New Mexico when my granddaughter Ashley has her baby. I wanted a bag to pack a few stamped images & some of my Copics in so I had something to do while we’re waiting on the baby to make his entrance into this world. Looks like the time is close so I’m flying there tomorrow & hope to make it before she has him. My daughter left today & is already there so she will get to meet him right away as this is her 1st grandchild & she is QUITE anxious to hold him … It would be great if they wait for me tomorrow but for Ashley’s sake I hope she has him ASAP as I know it’s been a long 9 months. Isn’t this bag too SWEET !!!

Ruth Ann did a wonderful job on this gorgeous little bag & I am thrilled to have it. It has a beautifully colored Tilda on it & I love the wonderful spring fabrics she used. It has plenty of nice sized pockets to hold a lot of Copics & images. I’m hoping to get a lot of them finished so I can make cards when I get back home & have some cute things to post. I did get one colored & you can see her popping her head out holding that little balloon.

It is the perfect size & it’s so darn cute I’m tempted to put it in a plastic bag so it doesn’t get dirty on the plane. But since I want to show it off I’ll just try to be extra careful …

There’s room in here for many things including my Ipad which I’m carrying in there;

Once again, Ruth Ann you know how much this meant to me the day you gave it to me at the shop. A girl never had a better friend … Thanks from the bottom of my heart. Since I love it so much I told my daughter, Bridgette who has a quilt shop that I would LOVE to have a 2nd one in fall colors. She assured me if I would ONLY color her a Tilda to use she would gladly make me one. How did I EVER get so lucky !!! Great friends AND great family !!!

Decorated Letters for MASON

My Granddaughter Ashley is expecting a baby boy next month & I made her a card & decorated some wooden letters to spell his name. They’ve decided to name him Mason but when he’s born if they decide on another name I’ll just make new letters ….

Pg card 1

I used a digi image from Saturated Canary called “Ice Cream & Pickles” & couldn’t have found a more perfect stamp for a young ladies 1st baby. I colored her with Copics & then decided to paper piece her clothes to match the papers in the card … That beautiful ribbon was a gift from my sweet friend Sharon Caudle & I made the bow using a Bow maker that I made myself out of a pine board & a few shop tools. I saw one on Becca Feekins blog months ago but wanted to try making my own. It works great & really is like having another pair of hands.
I’ve never tried decorating letters but it was pretty easy & lots of fun. I’m afraid I went overboard on the embellishments but I couldn’t stop adding little ducks & buttons & bows. I want to remind her to not hang it to close to his crib cuz there’s a lot of tiny pieces that I sure don’t want to fall into his bed.

mason & card

This is how plain they were before I added anything.

This is what they look like after ….

I took pictures during the process so I could do a little picture tutorial next time I want to make them …
Here is the card my daughter, Theresa (Ashley’s Mom) made using the same digi image while she was here visiting … Isn’t it adorable !!!  A truer sentiment was never made …. Love how she finished it on the inside too …
