Tilda Under Glass

I’ve made a little project using an old bell I found at a thrift store …
I think they now call it “Re-purposing” when you take something you might throw away & turn it into something useful. I stamped mini “Tilda as Christmas Angel” & cut her out with a doohickey tag die I got from Diana at Magnolia-licious … Isn’t she just adorable !!! Since the glass bell didn’t have a bottom I found a jar lid that fit perfectly, filled the lid with Flower Soft & put the bell on top of the lid.

I slid some pretty gold trimmed ribbon through the sentiment & glued it to the lid.
P1060009 P1060012
Wrapped the same ribbon around the top & tied a bow with bells hanging from it.
I’d like to thank my husband for having the patience to take me to Hobby Lobby & spend so much time there looking & helping me find little bells in gold, silver & red … I was looking for TINY little copper colored bells which we never found but he called me 3 times on my cell phone to say “Janie, come over I found a Bonanza” … They had bells in a dozen different places. Not many men would take the time to do these small things that make a women happy. He’s a keeper. The thrift store he didn’t enjoy so much. He thought it was JUNK I thought it was full of TREASURES !!!
Tilda was colored with Copics
Stamps : Mini Tilda as Christmas Angel, A Joyful Christmas sentiment & the Vintage Doohickey Tag die all from Diana at Magnolia-licious … They offer great prices, fast service & right now are having a fun “Blog Hop” so go check out what her talented design team has made for you .. I’m sure you will find some amazing cards & projects that will inspire you to create something wonderful & make a little trip to the store to check out all the stamps, dies & other great things Diana carries.

Only two colors

We are being challenged today at The Paper Shelter to use only two colors to make a card. I’ve chosen the Adorable Cowgirl as my image & colored her with Copics.  I admit it’s a little hard to color an image with so few Copics but there are a LOT of shades of green & yellow so I did my best …
This is a little wood frame that I made & love using to display my cards. Also made the tiny wagon wheel & pot that I drilled holes in so I can add a few dried flowers, wheat or even weeds. One of my favorite things to do is driving around & snipping off decorative weeds growing along the road to use in decorating my house or cards. I love my store bought dies & flowers etc but it’s nice to include a little bit of Mother Nature as well …
Now we’d love to see what you can create with just 2 colors & one lucky person will win a generous $30 gift to buy a bunch of these sweet digis if you use a Paper Shelter image. You can still win if you use another image & the prize would be 3 images from TPS.. Link your card to the Paper Shelter Challenge #133

 P1050980 P1050962 P1050975
I used Flower Soft for the ground & it looks like the little deer ran thru the bushes & has a little coating of “brush” on her. I COULD say I did it on purpose !!!
Here’s a few thumbnail pictures of different parts of my card & if you’d like to see them up close just click on each one.
Card Recipe :
  • Stamps … Paper Shelter Adorable Cowgirl & sentiment – Crazy for Chickens
  • Dies …Fishtail flags, Impression Obsession trees, Cheery Lynn & Impression Obsession grass
  • Barbed Wire fence from Die-namics, Deer is a Marianne die cut out of felt paper
  • Mixed Flower Soft
  • Papers … graphic 45

Thanks for stopping by & I love hearing from you. I read every comment & hold them close to my heart.

Autumn Tilda Pencil Holder

I LOVE this super cute mini Tilda … The theme for Magnolia-licious is a shaped card but round is a shape so I hope this works. I made a little project out of a peanut can & covered it with designer paper & colored her to match …. Super easy & fun to do.  Didn’t have any of my supplies except the images & my Copics as I am visiting my daughter but improvised & it will do … The fall is getting beautiful in Virginia so I grabbed a few leaves to add to my “display” & some even had acorns attached.

I’ll add a little more later this evening..

Little Mini Autumn Tilda is colored with Copics & cut out with a couple of free hand circles & popped on the front of a small can using foam tape. I used the lid for the bottom so it doesn’t scratch whatever it is set on. Thanks for stopping by & be sure to visit Diana at Magnolia-licious for some wonderful stamps, dies & so much more.

Little Miss Mumu

I’ve had a little secret for awhile & am ready to share it with you today !!! The wonderful Diana Crick from Magnolia-licious asked me to join the team to design cards for her & I was over the moon, & hand my over my mouth to keep from screaming YES !!!! I couldn’t answer her back fast enough… Thank you Diana for having faith in me to represent these amazing stamps, dies & so much more.

This is my 1st card I’ve made for the Magnolia blog & the Wee Wednesday post. I am so honored to be a part of this amazing team of talented designers & just hope they have the patience to keep me on board until I can figure everything out. I can not tell you how long this has been a dream of mine. I fell in love with the darling little Tilda images when I saw a card Sharon Caudle had made … It looked like something out of a princess castle & that was my 1st comment I ever made on anyone’s blog. I may have had a LOT more money before I found her sweet cards but I’ve never been happier … Still can’t believe I’m now ON this team …
This is the sweetest image called Little Miss Mumu … I used the mini which are so nice for creations like this & used my stampa-ma-jig to add the mini barbed wire background to her. Diana has them as a set for a great price. She’s also available in the regular size.
I’m going to retake these pictures as soon as I can & see if I can do the card justice. It’s a step-card & I made the stand, the wagon wheel & that little wooden pot & thought they were the perfect accessories to display my card. In my next life I’m going to be a GREAT photographer… I just can’t take good pictures especially with lamps. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks for stopping by & be sure to check out Magnolia-licious for great deals on stamps, dies & so much more. Diana is now carrying Wild Rose Studio, Wee stamps, Penny Black & several others.

Warm in the Winter

This little girl looks like she’s ready for winter all bundled up. She’s a digi image from The Paper Shelter called Warm in the Winter & is so fun to color. The challenge this week is Shabby Chic & if you use one of their digis you could win a $30 prize to choose a bunch of their cute little images. You can use another image for the challenge & if you are picked you could still win 3 digis from them. They have a lot to choose from …

I used a little Frantage & should have taken a picture of my craftroom floor cuz that’s where MOST of the stuff went. I LOVE that embossing technique but apparently didn’t have it applied quite right cuz when I put the heat gun under the paper it went flying everywhere. Let’s just say I have a VERY sparkly house … I might have got a little carried away with it but it was a learning experience so I added it to everything & it looks like a glittery snow day …

I placed the card on a Joy Craft paper stand & then on a little wooden rack that I built.

I used velvet paper for the deer & a black marker to color the eye & hooves & they look almost real. (click on the picture to see a close-up) …

Have a great day & hope you find time to be a little “crafty”…

Card stands

I made these cards quite awhile ago but thought it was time to post them. Something a little different for me with no coloring but it was fun to just use some dies for a change …

Not sure why but this card makes me happy !!! I love watching birds of any kind …

You can click on the small pictures to make them larger if you like.

P1050547 P1050548

These are Joy Craft card stands that you can make out of any kind of paper to display your cards on. Mine are just made from the matching cardstock. There is a 3rd die in the set but will have to take a new picture to show it later…

Thanks for stopping by to share what makes me happy …

Simple Diaper Fold

1st I want to wish the DT girls that are leaving us the very best & am so sorry to see them go. Also want to give the 7 new girls who were chosen to represent TPS a warm welcome & know you’re going to really enjoy being here. It’s a wonderful place to be a part of.
I know you’re expecting a baby card but The Paper Shelter wants us to make a card with many folds & right away I thought of the wonderful Diaper Fold card a sweet lady Irene shared with me quite awhile back … If you join the challenge of a card with many folds this week you have the chance to win a $30 gift to spend at The Paper Shelter if you use one of their wonderful images. If you use another image you can still win but you gift would be 3 digis of your choice from them. Still a great prize cuz they have a lot of really cute stuff …
The only image I had with me to color was a cute little Fair Day digi from TPS… This is the simplest card fold to make … I didn’t even remember to take my embellishments so am trying to throw a little extras on this evening to spruce it up a little. With these darling little images it doesn’t take much.
I even got a little shot of one of my daughter Bridgette’s many quilts. She can make a quilt faster than I can make a card …
All you do is fold any size square in half (mine is 9 x 9) then you fold the edges in
P1050815 P1050816
& fold the top down & squeeze the sides just a bit & it makes an instant pouch.
P1050817 P1050819
No glue needed it just folds & stays together wonderfully …
Then you can decorate it or add a few little gift items or candy treats or a gift card poked in there would be so nice for anyone to receive.
Colored with Copics
Skin - E000, E01, E93
Hair - E50, E53, E35
Blues - B45, B41, B0000
Balloon - YR000- YR00, YR01
Shirt & Shoes - E35

Thank you for visiting my blog today. Besides my family & friends, it’s what makes me happy & keeps me broke …

Back to School

This weeks challenge at The Paper Shelter is "Back to School" & when my daughters were in school that meant SHOPPING !!! We would spend $100's of $$$ & after a week they "didn't have a thing to wear". Heaven forbid they wear anything they already had or that had a small hole in it... NOW people are paying over $100 for ONE pair of jeans that HAVE holes all over them on purpose !!! How ironic is that !!!
This little digi image is called Shopping Girl & prints out like a dream & even comes with a background paper . If you use an image from the Paper Shelter for this weeks challenge you have a chance to win a generous $30 gift certificate. If you use another image & are picked you could win 3 digis of your choice.
The sentiment reminds me of my daughters & I, if something fit we DID buy one of every color cuz we could never make up our minds. Unfortunately WE still have that habit only mine is now stamps, ink & cardstock ...
These little shopping bags are so cute but looked a little empty so I made a slit in them, poked some scraps of colored tissue paper into them & added a little bling of Stickles..
Have a great day & thank you for stopping by & please check out the many, many amazing images here at the Paper Shelter.
Remember there is a design team call here also & if you'd like to have a chance playing with some of these images just enter the DT call & you could be one of the 7 new ladies we're looking for ... So grab your crafting supplies & let's see the fabulous creations you can whip up.

Flight Attendant

Today we are making clean & simple cards for the Paper Shelter challenge #121. This is pretty bare since I didn't use any ribbon on it. I did try a little 'Frantage" for the 1st time but was a little skimpy with it as I wasn't sure how to use it. Frantage is like embossing powder but you heat set it from the bottom BEFORE you heat it on the top. Ask me how I know that !!!  LOL
You have the chance of winning a gift voucher worth $30 in the Paper Shelter store playing with their images. Playing with another image gives you a chance of winning three digis of your choice. Still a great prize.
Here's a close up of the beautiful WOC flowers.
and the pretty little flight attendant showing you the way to the closest exit.
